Well my friends, the rooster problem here at the farm has found a peaceful solution. Yeah! But I find myself still at the crossroads of life, deciding on what to let go of in my busy schedule. It’s been a particularly tough week that, honestly, if I truly “listen to my life,” it is clear what life is trying to say! Should I stay or should I go? Before I make any final decisions, I need this rainy spring day to listen to the God messages all around — and to make a batch of cookies my mom always made when I was feeling unsure about anything in life. It’s amazing how warm, molasses crinkles can help you untangle the knots in your heart. What used to make you feel loved and safe as a child? I would love for you to share in our time together. So pull up a chair, make sure to comment, press the like button and share with a friend! Blessings to you!
Hey, Donna. I have followed you constantly for a long time and learned a lot from you, especially about the 18th century! In your videos for the past several months you have shared with us your challenges about the next step in your life and your feelings about them. I appreciate that you have shared those as I have also faced those same challenges. Your most recent one brought back a memory of my own experience with confrontational people. One wise person said to me “Take care of yourself first. If you are losing sleep and your mind is in “monkey mind” and you are constantly trying to make things right, think of yourself first and remove yourself from that person if you can.” I thought that was good advice. Even though I couldn’t remove him from my life, I could pay more attention to taking care of myself, not dwelling on the relationship with the person, and filling my life with people I love and those who love me. Eventually, he moved on to another job.
I am thinking of you and hope that you can restore your sleep, calm your monkey mind, and fill your life with people you love and who love you. You are a very successful person and pastor and I am so glad that I found your videos. As I remember, you were the editor of a Presbyterian publication and wrote the advent devotionals one year which included two poems by Howard Thurman. Those poems spoke to me and then I found you.
May God give you the peace you are seeking and let you feel the love that surrounds you.
My best, Nancy

Nancy, so wonderful to get your note, and I love the “monkey mind.” Yes, I am trying to breathe, pray and rest. 🙂 I am in awe how the time is flying by and those Presbyterians Today writing days seem so far away. I am so thankful that through my writing we connected. I will continue doing Old Stone Well Farm, that is not a question. 🙂 And so here’s to seeking peace in a world that is doing its best to disrupt our peace. I hope all is well!!! Blessings to you!

I want to leave another comment. Recently your YouTube videos have been interrupted with commercials and right in the most important part of your thoughts. Is there some way to keep that from happening?
