Sidelined for the Summer
I did not expect to find myself sidelined from all the summer plans that I had made. But here I am, dealing with…are you ready for this…Lyme disease.
Yep. After years and years of frolicking in the woods with no problem, the dreaded red rash appeared the other day, shining light on the reason why I have been feeling out of sorts for a few weeks now.
So here I am, trying to heal my body, and my spirit. This time has been such a reminder for me that in my weakness, God is strong and God’s grace can get us through it all. But I am tired of resting and miss being with you.
So come join me as I share with you not just my Lyme diagnosis, but some thoughts on dealing with rejection as well…and how I recently experienced the sting of rejection firsthand. What a summer it has been! I pray you are all well!

s. MNiss seeing you and our chats together. All is going well in Millbrook. Current pastor has agreed to stay on for another 5 yers as of 1/1/25! Putting a new roof on the sanctuary this fall and adding solar. Expensive but necessary.
I don’t remember if I told you that I am legally blind so haven’t driven in the lasst 3 yrs. Sold my hourse to my niece and moved into an apartment in the village so I can walk to anything. Miss my freedom though!

Jan, it is such a joy to hear from you!! I didn’t realize that your were now legally blind. But being in the village is a big help. And what great news about all that is happening at church. Wonderful to hear. Continued prayers. I have been thinking of you and at some point soon I want to head down your way and see you. I will keep you posted when that happens! Blessings to you!!!

Yes, it wasn’t fun. But thankfully I am finally on the mend. Today is the first day that I feel like my old self. One day at a time.
