Finding Peace Amid Winter Storms
We’ve had a series of wicked storms in one week here at Old Stone Well Farm, and I have to admit, they rattled me! The winds blew over trees, caused damage to the 18th century house and made me realize that sometimes my faith isn’t all that strong.
So when an old tree toppled over, I had to ask myself, how strong are my faith roots? Can I trust God’s goodness when the storms of life hit? So join me in this episode of Old Stone Well Farm where I get real and share the good, the bad and the ugly! I also share how I found peace in the storm using an ancient prayer technique.
What about you? How do you nurture your faith when times are tough? Where do you find peace? I would love to know. Comment, like, share!
Blessings! Donna
Always sad when such a lovely tree blows over. My content place and shelter place is always the beach. Snow flurries and wind this afternoon kept me indoors however. Maybe tomorrow…

It is sad when trees fall down. It reminds me of a beautiful poem by Maya Angelou, “When a Great Tree Falls.” May tomorrow be a better day so you can get out and enjoy all of God’s beautiful creation! Blessings to you!!!

And you are a blessing to me! I am glad that you let us know that your husband got home safely and the power came back on. I was going to ask you to let us know. Vermont weather is challenging for sure. I am going to try the breath prayer. It sounds like it will be calming and relaxing.
Here is a prayer I like and want to share. I think it is a Celtic prayer but I am not sure.
May you be happy
May your be blessed
May you be free and peaceful
May you be ever loved
May you be always loving
Peace, Nancy

Your message was so well timed. I’m not experiencing storms as you describe although we had our share in North Dakota. My storm is of a different nature. My sister lost her husband of 60 years a month ago yesterday. She lives in MT and I am trying to help her navigate all the details of “closing” a person’s life long distance. It’s difficult because Larry didn’t share and account numbers or passwords for his numerous online subscriptions. Tomorrow is her birthday and I hope that I can share some peace with her. I hope that you too can find peace and feel safe from the storms.

Judy, I am holding your sister and you — and all — in my prayers. Yes, that is a storm of different kind. Your note is a reminded for us who are still living to get things in order and have all that information that will be needed when the time comes. I often think about that as I am the one in the household who takes care of all the business and my husband would not know what the passwords are if something was to happen. And your sister shares a birthday with my father! And so, I am holding her in my prayers today and in the days to come!
